In 1985, I was visiting SUNY Buffalo. On 21 June 1985, Bill Lawvere gave a seminar on a piece of André Joyal's work. Presumably Bill had a preprint of the Comptes Rendues (Acad. Sci. Canada) article about the homology of symmetric groups which appeared at the end of that year. This talk is based on the article and the seminar.
