We revisit some concepts introduced in my 2017 paper on skew-enriched categories by practising the yoga of enrichment through variation. The fundamental observation is that, for $\mathcal{V}$ a skew monoidal category, skew $\mathcal{V}$-proactegories are the same thing as lax functors from $\mathcal{V}^{\mathrm{op}}$ (seen as a one-object skew bicategory) to $\mathbf{Prof}$.
